ROCK PAINTING PARTY IN MEMORY OF LOCAL ARTIST, DIANE HALASZ, A SUCCESS!!

I was humbled the last Tuesday when Joy, owner of The Wherehouse in downtown Murphy, had a rock painting party in memory of my mom, Diane Halasz. My mom moved to the mountains 15 years ago and has never regretted it. Having recently retired, she decided to take up a passion (and gift) of hers and start painting. You name it, she pretty much painted on it! My favorite was her house rocks and her acrylic paintings on rough wood. She has always had an eye for seeing the possibility in objects. She recently passed and The Wherehouse has been selling her house rocks for a couple of years now. Joy thought it would be fun to have a rock painting party in her memory. I stopped in for a few minutes and was thrilled at the rocks that had been done, and seeing the little kids enjoying themselves painting rocks!! It is something they will take with them the rest of their lives. Thank you to Joy for remembering my mom, and thank you to all who helped, and participated, to celebrate my mom's love for painting on rocks!
