New Information from John C. Campbell Folk School

Here at the Folk School, we've found that using small-scale tools, materials, and perspectives often brings amazing results. Smaller tools like the mini-lathe or inkle loom, materials like glass seed beads and fabric scraps, and small-scale camera views can help unlock our creativity. Local Standby Program
Our Local Standby Program offers 50% off full tuition on a space available, standby basis. The program is open to both part- and full-time local residents. Learn more about the Standby Program on our website.

New for 2019, we have added five new counties to our Local Standby Program. The new counties include Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, and Transylvania in NC and Monroe in TN.

The residents of the following counties qualify for our Local Standby Program:
NC: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, Swain, Transylvania and Qualla Boundary 
GA: Fannin, Gilmer, Rabun, Towns, Union
TN: Monroe, Polk
Work Study Program

The Work Study Program is designed to benefit both the school and the student. For the Folk School, the program fills the need for work in various areas and departments. For the Work Study student, the program is a chance to spend nine weeks working, living, and learning in the Folk School environment.
